Hawaii, USA; BRUSSELS, Belgium; VICTORIA, Seychelles; BALI, Indonesia – The International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) strengthened its China engagement with new initiatives announced with China Business Network (CBN).

In joining ICTP, China Business Network has agreed to put in place an extensive collaboration designed to advance the basic principles of Green Growth and Quality with the most dynamic travel market in the world. Together, the two organizations will work to engage Chinese communities and their stakeholders in the basic principles of ICTPโ€™s coalition. CBN will help ICTP members to better understand how to penetrate the complex but massive Chinese market and will provide Council Members with specialized training and tools to attract the growing number of outbound Chinese travelers and to make them want to return.

ICTP Chairman Juergen T. Steinmetz said: โ€œWe are very pleased to welcome China Business Network to our membership. By engaging so comprehensively, we expect to deliver exciting new values for ICTP members.โ€

Dr. Adam Wu, Chief Operating Officer of China Business Network, said: โ€œCBN Travel and MICE, as a part of the China Business Network, has been supporting many tourism promotion authorities on the national, regional, and local level to reach the fast-growing Chinese market, while we recommend incoming service providers from airlines, DMCs, and tourist attractions to reach the outbound travel trade in China and millions of Chinese travelers โ€“ you can see more details about our focus on outbound travel from China directly on www.ChinaBN.org/travel .โ€

โ€œWe share the same belief with ICTP that in order to sustain the growth of the travel and tourism industry, we need to be committed to quality services and green growth. With our slogan of โ€˜Bring the World to China and take Chinese to the World,โ€™ we are happy to be part of ICTP and to share the value of increasing competitiveness through cooperation and networking. I am also pleased that our award-winning outbound portal called World Travel Online ( http://lvyou168.cn ) on the China Wide Web with English demo home page of www.travel168.net has also been a member of ICTP as supporting media from China.โ€

ICTP President Professor Geoffrey Lipman, who was a keynote speaker at CBNโ€™s World Travel Market China Seminar, said: โ€œThese are tough times for the world economy and for our sector, but one thing is certain, China travel and tourism is now firmly established as a pillar of national development strategy. We want to be actively supportive of that vision and to help communities and their stakeholders – inside and outside China โ€“ be at the leading edge of Green Growth transformation. This agreement is not cosmetic but a long-term commitment to advancing investment and development in China travelism.โ€
