The Routes business today announced a partnership with the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), a private, non-profit organization, whose more than 40 member airlines represent over 90 percent of the regionโ€™s commercial air traffic. ALTA coordinates the collaborative efforts of its members in order to facilitate the development of safer, more efficient, and environmentally-friendly air transport in the Latin America and Caribbean region for the benefit of the associationโ€™s members, their customers, and the industry in general.

This partnership has been forged to further develop the 6th Routes Americas, which will take place on February 10-12, 2013 in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, and will be hosted by Sociedad Aeroportuaria de la Costa S.A. (SACSA) and its partners. The event, which is the annual gathering of air service decision makers for the entire Americas region, will bring together more than 350 delegates from airports, airlines, tourism authorities, and other industry stakeholders from across the Americas to discuss air service development.

Executive Vice President, Routes, David Stroud commented: โ€œWe are delighted to announce this partnership with ALTA. We have worked together for many years but having a formalized agreement with them for our Routes Americas event will ensure strong attendance from their 43 member airlines and will secure the key players from the Latin American and Caribbean regions into our already highly regarded conference program.โ€

Alex de Gunten, Executive Director, ALTA, commented: โ€œThe unequalled experience of Routes in bringing airports and airlines together, coupled with ALTAยดs leading presence and network in the Latin America and Caribbean region will maximize the value to all the participants.โ€
