FRANKFURT, Germany – Worldhotels has appointed Rob van der Beek as its new Senior Director Hotel Development, based in Amsterdam.

FRANKFURT, Germany – Worldhotels has appointed Rob van der Beek as its new Senior Director Hotel Development, based in Amsterdam.

In his new role, van der Beek is tasked with capitalising on the potential of the Benelux region, where Worldhotels already offers 32 hotels in its portfolio. The most recent developments include the Worldhotel Grand Winston The Hague – Rijswijk and Rotterdam’s iconic floating hotel ss Rotterdam. Van der Beek will also be responsible for Hotel Development in France, UK and Ireland.

Van der Beek’s primary focus will be driving Worldhotels’ branded hotels, a soft franchising model which was introduced in 2010 and is an ideal alternative to standard franchise contracts. The fee structure for this model is extremely competitive as it is based purely on brand performance in total room revenue delivery. It is therefore the ideal solution for owners of upscale and luxury hotels looking for maximum commercial support, highest feasible returns and the least possible operational restrictions.

Van der Beek is now in his second spell with Worldhotels, having previously worked for the group from 1999 to 2007 as Director of Sales, Marketing & Development. He rejoins Worldhotels after spending a year as Sales Director at Accor Hotels Netherlands and then four years as Area Sales & Marketing Director for the Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza in Amsterdam.

“It is clear that there are significant opportunities for Worldhotels in The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, both in terms of growing our portfolio and working closely with existing affiliate hotels to build business,” comments Worldhotels Managing Director Robert Hornman.

“Rob van der Beek’s appointment gives us a strong presence in the region. He is well-known and well-respected within the local hotel and marketing community, and equally importantly, he understands the values and objectives of Worldhotels and our affiliates.”
