Year-end festive season: spectacular shows in Indonesia

As the end of the year approaches, the Indonesian islands are alight with a host of spectacular shows and performances for the Indonesian public and international visitors to watch and participate.

As the end of the year approaches, the Indonesian islands are alight with a host of spectacular shows and performances for the Indonesian public and international visitors to watch and participate. These take place over two months in November and December held on Batam, Bintan, to Jakarta and Bali. The events range from concerts featuring international superstars: Bollywoodโ€™s Shah Rukh Khan, K-Popโ€™s Psy, and international celebrities J-Lo, MIA, and Michael Learns to Rock, to fans gathering meeting popular actors and actresses of the celebrated TV serial โ€œTukang Bubur Naik Haji,โ€ to special classical Wayang Performances from the Court of Yogyakarta, to exhibitions, and international golf competitions.

So, come to Indonesia this year-end and join in the festive season.

Zapin Dance International Festival

Samarinda, East Kalimantan

Zapin Dance is a Malay dance which is imbued with religious and educational messages. This traditional dance is highlighted by its beautiful diverse movements originally born out of the skillful movements of the feet as originally performed by Arabic and Persian males. The International Festival is participated by representation from several provinces of Kalimantan and also the neighboring countries of Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.
