São Paulo, Brazil – TAM Airlines, the Brazilian carrier that is part of the LATAM Airlines Group, will launch a new daily non-stop service between Rio de Janeiro and Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, on 15 November 2012.

An Airbus A320 will be used on the new route offering 12 Business Class seats and 144 in Economy. The daily flight leaves early morning from Rio de Janeiro to Montevideo, with an early evening departure from Montevideo to Rio de Janeiro.

TAM also operates a third daily non-stop frequency to-and-from São Paulo’s international airport (Guarulhos) to Montevideo as of 25 October. The new frequency gives passengers a greater choice of flight time between the two cities.

The new Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo flights to-and-from Montevideo not only link these major South American cities, but also give passengers travelling between the Uruguayan capital and European and North American destinations more options and choice to connect over and through both Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

LAN Airlines, the other carrier that is part of the LATAM group, will also offer an additional service between Montevideo and the Chilean capital, Santiago, as of 1 December 2012. LAN will then have three daily flights to-and-from the two cities.
