Caribbean Airlines may launch Grenada-London service

Grenada’s Airlift Committee is in talks with Caribbean Airlines on potentially servicing the Grenada-London route, according to Tourism Minister Senator George Vincent.

Grenada’s Airlift Committee is in talks with Caribbean Airlines on potentially servicing the Grenada-London route, according to Tourism Minister Senator George Vincent. The news comes after British Airways announced that it would be reducing its twice-weekly summer flights to Grenada to just one per week on Sundays starting next year.

“The Grenada Airlift Committee must be commended for its continued efforts, and we are confident that negotiations with Caribbean Airlines will bring about desired results and we will be able to soon fill the void created by British Airways’ decision,” Vincent said.

The Minister said Grenada and British Airways have an agreed payment schedule, however. Grenada is also talking to LIAT about potentially reinstating the Grenada/Barbados route, he said.
