Madame Sylvia Pinel, the new French Minister responsible for the Artisanat, Commerce and Tourism, used the tourism trade fair in Paris to meet with Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, as she toured the fair on the first day of the exhibition. The Seychelles stand had been one of the stops preselected by the French Minister’s delegation, which was the first opportunity for Minister St.Ange to meet with the newly-appointed Minister Pinel following the recent French presidential elections.

The beauty of the Seychelles is known, said the French Minister when invited by Minister St.Ange to make a stop on her next visit to La Reunion Island.

“Seychelles and La Reunion are both part of the Vanilla Islands Regional Grouping, and it would be a pleasure to have you, Madame Minister, discover this last paradise on Earth,” Minister St.Ange said.

The Seychelles Minister pointed out to the Minister Pinel of France the spectacular backdrop of the Seychelles stand at the trade fair, which showcases again this year the beach scene of the islands with its clean and clear turquoise blue seas as he offered the unique Coco de Mer-shaped USB key recently released by the Seychelles Tourism Board.

“It was a great opportunity for us to meet. As France remains our main tourist market, and because of the excellent cooperation our two countries enjoy, and because of the historical ties that binds France and Seychelles, it is hoped that a formal meeting will be organized between us in the coming months,” Minister Alain St.Ange told the gathered press in Paris.

Seychelles is a founding member of the International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP).
