Online module of sustainable tourism comes to Seychelles

The Seychelles Tourism Academy, in collaboration with the Commonwealth of Learning, is set to launch its online module of sustainable tourism in small island states.

The Seychelles Tourism Academy, in collaboration with the Commonwealth of Learning, is set to launch its online module of sustainable tourism in small island states.

The online module open to students of tour guiding and hotel management has been tailored in partnership with the Virtual University for Small Island States of the commonwealth.

Presently, sustainable tourism in small island states is being taught as a module for students enrolled in the courses of tour guiding and hotel management.

This module will now feature on the virtual university for small island states and gain its international recognition.

Mr. John Lesperance from the Canadian Institute of the Commonwealth of Learning is presently in Seychelles to launch the online module of sustainable tourism in small island states.

The launching of the online module will be held on Monday, September 3, 2012 at 1500 hours at the Seychelles Tourism Academy campus.

The Seychelles Tourism Academy will welcome, in a small ceremony, a team from the Commonwealth of Learning for the launching of the module.

Seychelles is a founding member of the International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP).
