An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 was recorded this Sunday at 11:18 a.m., 28 kilometers west of the Lempa River Delta, El Salvador.
According to INETER, the earthquake had a depth of 40 kilometers and was caused by the collision of the Cocos and Caribbean tectonic plates.
Vice President Rosario Murillo said the earthquake was felt mainly by residents living in western Nicaragua.
