YEOSU, South Korea – On 28 July 2012 a solemn celebration of National Kazakhstan Day will be held at the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2012 at Yeosu, Korea.

104 countries from Asia, Europe, America and Africa are participating at EXPO.

The delegation of Kazakhstan is headed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Kazakhstan, Mr. Bahytzhan Sagintaev.

This is the fourth time that Kazakhstan is officially taking part in an EXPO exhibition. As mentioned earlier, our country is presenting a pavilion in Korea with an area of 774 square meters. Arranged around the central theme of water, the pavilion displays examples of both tradition and innovation in culture, science, business and tourism. Harmoniously weaving the elements together the exhibit tells of the history and traditions of the country, its present and the outlook for its future. A special place in the Kazakh pavilion has been set aside for Astana’s bid to host the EXPO in 2017.

Kazakhstan have prepared a colorful and memorable cultural program to celebrate its National Day. The celebration will begin with a solemn flag raising ceremony as the national anthem is played, after which the official part of the festivities will start. The program will include a tour of the pavilion and a gala concert.

The official representatives of Kazakhstan and of South Korea, guests of honor and international journalists will have a chance to enjoy a concert program that will include performances by popular dancers, ethno-instrumental and folk musicians, vocalists and classical musicians.

On this day a series of acts will perform on Ocean Plaza: the folk-ethnographic ensemble “Turan”, the ethno-instrumental ensemble “Beles”, the dance troupe “Gul’der”, the vocal quartet “Classic”, star Kazakh performers Madina Sadvakasova and Almas Kishkenbaev, and the “Ringo” band.

As the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, B. Sagintaev stated: “For our country, participating in the EXPO 2012 is extremely important. It’s a crucial platform where people and countries are given an opportunity to exchange experiences and new ideas, discuss methods and potential solutions to saving our oceans and our water resources.
