Nigeria is the economic powerhouse in Africa and one of the largest countries on that continent. Tourism is only a small part of the overall economy, but music and fashion are all related to tourism and altogether are playing a major role in Nigeria.

Minister HE Alhaj Lai Mohammed leads the portfolio of Information and Culture in Nigeria. Yesterday, he attended the second virtual ministerial round table organized by the African Tourism Board (ATB) for its Project Hope and chaired by Dr. Taleb Rifai. Dr. Rifai is theย  Chair of Project Hope for ATB and former UNWTO Secretary-General.

What is Nigeria doing to combat COVID-19? How is Nigeria taking care of the travel and tourism industry? Mr. Mohammed addressed these questions.

HE Alhaj Lai Mohammed was born into the family of Alhaji Mohammed Adekeye in 1952. He is a native of Oro in Kwara State. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in French from Obafemi Awolowo University in the year 1975. He proceeded to obtain a Law degree from the University of Lagos, and then the Nigerian Law School in 1986.
