The last working visit to Mauritius by Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, saw him at his best giving many interviews, press conferences, and photo opportunities to the Mauritius press. Minister Alain St.Ange is known across the world as being press friendly, and the different press and media of Mauritius took advantage of a visiting tourism personality open to answer their questions and face them.

Mauritius TV, radios, magazines and newspapers all made time to meet the Seychelles Minister, and the coverage has been great, the Ministerโ€™s Press Attachรฉ said when copies of the different articles arrived in Seychelles. TV and radio coverage were immediate, but the written press brought our articles progressively.

โ€œLe Mauricien,โ€ one of the islandโ€™s main newspapers, has just brought out a report of their interview with Minister St.Ange, and they dedicated two full pages to that interview, showing the importance of regional cooperation for the newspaper. โ€œWe are already sister islands, let us now develop economic ties,โ€ Le Mauricien quotes Minister St.Ange as saying. Jean Marc Poche, the newspaperโ€™s respected journalist, covers in his interview different points raised by the Seychelles Minister during his visit to Mauritius – the SADC Tourism Ministers Meeting, the RETOSA Board, Routes Africa 2012 which is taking place in Seychelles in July, the Vanilla Islands, and the cooperation between Seychelles and Mauritius. โ€œUn vieux routier du tourismeโ€ (an experienced tourism professional) is how the newspaper refers to the appointment by President James Michel of Alain St.Ange as the islandโ€™s Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture.

The interview sees Minister Alain St.Ange of the Seychelles express his desire to see Mauritius join Seychelles and La Reunion as co-hosts of the annual Carnaval International de Victoria that is held annually in the Seychelles.
