Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, met with Mr. Chan Meng Kam, member of the Legislative Assembly of the Macau Special Administration Region of the People’s Republic of China, when he was on a working visit to Hong Kong and Macau last week.

The meeting between Mr. St.Ange and Mr. Chang Meng Kam was organized by Mr. Kyan Su Lone, the President of the Macau ASEAN International Chamber of Commerce. The discussions centered on the future cooperation between Macau and Seychelles and the interest of Seychelles to be better promoted in Macau so as to increase the number of holiday makers from that Chinese Special Administration Region to the Seychelles islands.

Several avenues were discussed, including a visit to the Seychelles by Mr. Chang Meng Kam, alongside Mr. Kyan Su Lone, the President of the Macau ASEAN International Chamber of Commerce and a delegation from the Macau business community. After the meeting, Alain St.Ange confirmed that the Seychelles Tourism Board was working with the Macau ASEAN International Chamber of Commerce for a tourism workshop in July in Macau to follow up on the recent Hong Kong tourism workshop, which was also assisted by some tour operators from Macau.

“The mainland of China and its Special Administration Regions of Hong Kong and Macau are real target markets for Seychelles, and the Seychelles Tourism Board will work with members of the private sector wanting to receive visitors from that part of the world. In our drive to diversify our market base, no stones must be left unturned,” Alain St.Ange said.
