Canada passenger train derails

(eTN) – Yesterday afternoon, a Canada Via Rail passenger train traveling from Niagara Falls to Toronto, derailed.

(eTN) – Yesterday afternoon, a Canada Via Rail passenger train traveling from Niagara Falls to Toronto, derailed.

There were 75 people on board, and 3 train employees at the front of the train died in the accident. Three passengers were airlifted to hospitals, and 42 other passengers sustained minor injuries.

The train derailed near Aldershot station in Ontario. A total of 6 train cars derailed, with the locomotive and a car crashing into a building.

It has not yet been said what caused the derailment, however, one passenger said right before the train went off the tracks, she felt a slight bump.
