Seychelles is expected to receive the arrival of over 33 international carnival delegations to parade alongside another forty-plus local delegations for the 2012 carnival procession.

Seychelles is also expecting several VVIPs who are flying in to be part of the celebrations on the island that sits in the middle of the Indian Ocean. The President of La Reunion, the King of the Ashantis from Ghana, the Vice President of Zimbabwe, the Secretary General of the UNWTO, and the Secretary General of ASEAN are all joining in with the Goodwill Ambassador and the United Nations Food & Agricultural Organization, who are joining ministers and mayors from different parts of the world in the celebrations.

Seychelles is also set to welcome its biggest contingent of press ever. They are flying from the four corners of the world to cover the 2012 edition of the “Carnaval International de Victoria.”

โ€œSeychelles and La Reunion have joined forces to be co-hosts of the 2012 carnival. Together we shall be working to firmly establish the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands event as the venue for the world to meet and showcase their culture, people, and beauty. This meeting venue is set to remain outside political and religious differences. It is a meeting of people on the islands that consider themselves friends of all and enemies of none,โ€ Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, said.
