AMMAN,Jordan – Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef Al Fayez highlighted the importance of the ministry’s plans in promoting Jordan as a secure and stable region.
At a press conference in Amman on Sunday, the minister said that the launch of the 2011-2015 National Strategy for Tourism as well as the Investment Map in the tourism sector were among the most important accomplishments last year.
The ministry he added, worked last year to modernize a number of tourism laws and legislation and developed its administrative and technical structure to upgrade the tourism sector and attract more tourists into the Kingdom.
“The ministry is also working with Jordan Society of Tourism and Travel Agents to amend the society’s system to achieve its objectives and develop tourism services.
Al Fayez stressed the importance of promoting medical and religious tourism through shrines of Prophet Mohammad’s companions as well as the Baptism site.
