A group of 43-leading travel agents from the Belgium-based tour operator of UNICLAM was recently in Seychelles on a five- day educational visit to learn firsthand of the destination.

This is the biggest group of Belgium travel agents to have been on an educational visit to Seychelles.

Their visit had been organized by Creole Travel Services (CTS), one of Seychelles’ top destination management companies, in partnership with the Seychelles Tourism Board, alongside other trade partners.

They arrived in Seychelles on December 1 and left the islands on December 5 after an activity-filled program that had them visiting various sites of attractions and tourism establishments of the islands of Mahe, Praslin, La Digue, and Sainte Anne.

Part of their itinerary also consisted of a destination workshop, which was hosted by the Sainte Anne Resort on Saturday, December 3. The workshop was put together by the Creole Travel Services and saw the participation of partner Seychelles Tourism Board, as well as representatives of Banyan Tree Resort, the Constance Lรฉmuria Resort, Raffles Praslin Resort, Indian Ocean Lodge, Denis Private Island, Cerf Island Resort, Le Meridien Fishermanโ€™s Cove, and MAIA Luxury Resort & Spa.

On the evening of Sunday, December 4, the group was hosted to dinner by the Seychelles Tourism Board, after which they had the opportunity to enjoy the local music and dance.

The head of Creole Travel Services, Guillaume Albert, has said that it was a pleasure for them to help with the visit of this large group of travel agents from Belgium.

โ€œCreole Travel Services assisted with transfers and trips around the islands so that the group could better appreciate what Seychelles has to offer,โ€ said Mr. Albert.

The Seychelles Tourism Board marketing executive, Sandra Lepathy, who was assisting with the trip, has said that the groupโ€™s educational visit has been successful with the travel agents having gained greater insight of Seychelles.

โ€œThis learning experience for sure will help the travel agents to better promote and sell [our] destination in the Belgian market, which is seen as a lucrative market for Seychelles’ tourism industry, with the potential of boosting our visitor arrivals from the European market,โ€ noted Ms. Lepathy.
