The Seychelles Islands of the Indian Ocean made the top banner of much-read and popular “The National” newspaper of Abu Dhabi on Thursday, November 24, the very day of the official opening of the Seychelles Embassy and Tourist Office in Abu Dhabi.

The Seychelles Tourism Board had been working in close collaboration with “The National” newspaper for a feature article on the newspapers “Ultratravel” full-color supplement, but nothing could have anticipated the newspaper to have Seychelles as its head banner for the issue that marks the official opening of the Seychelles Abu Dhabi office.

With the cover of the “Ultratravel” and five full pages totally dedicated to the beauty of the Seychelles, it was no surprise that Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, who was Master of Ceremony at the official opening of the Seychelles Embassy in Abu Dhabi, took the opportunity to show off the newspaper and its “Ultratravel” color supplement when he took to the podium in the presence of the Seychelles President, Mr. James Michel; UAE dignitaries; Mr. Jean Paul Adam, the Seychelles Minister of Foreign Affairs; the Seychelles new Ambassador in Abu Dhabi, HE Dick Esparon; members of the diplomatic corp.; tourism and airline professionals; and members of the UAE press.

“Seychelles’ opening of its Embassy is marked by ‘The National’ newspaper. Today as we open a permanent Seychelles presence in the UAE, we made the top banner of the paper’s front page and the front page of its travel supplement, plus pages of that same supplement. The beauty of the Seychelles has been brought out, and as we open the Seychelles Abu Dhabi Embassy and our Tourist Office; we must say that this office is not here to issue visas, but more to ensure the visibility of our islands are increased. We are a country that remains friends of all, and as such, we practice a ‘no visa’ policy, making it easy for everyone to visit and holiday in the Seychelles,” Alain St.Ange said.

The CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board also made it his mission to emphasize that Seychelles is but a four-hour-plus trip from the Middle East. Aliette Esther is the Tourism Attache at the Seychelles Embassy in Abu Dhabi working in close collaboration with Ambassador Dick Esparon.

“The National’s” Ultratravel brings to life the beauty of the Seychelles and the diversity that exists in these mid-ocean tropical islands. They recommend the Seychelles as a holiday destination for the Emirates and for residents in the Middle East.
