St. George’s Bay in Malta welcomes new GM

Corinthia Hotels announced the appointment of Stuart Chappell as General Manager of the five-star Corinthia Hotel St. George’s Bay, in St. Julian’s, Malta.

Corinthia Hotels announced the appointment of Stuart Chappell as General Manager of the five-star Corinthia Hotel St. George’s Bay, in St. Julian’s, Malta.

Stuart Chappell comes to Malta from a long career in the hospitality industry in the UK and more recently China, where he was General Manager for the 440-room, five-star Guoman Hotel Beijing. Prior to Stuart’s move to China, he was General Manager of the 1,000-room Cumberland Hotel in Marble Arch, London, with additional responsibility for the 700-room Thistle Marble Arch, London.

Welcoming Stuart to his new post, Corinthia COO Liam Lambert commented, “Stuart’s successful track record in leading both business and leisure hotels, internationally guarantees that our Corinthia Hotel St. George’s Bay in Malta will continue to achieve growth and meet its targets in all market segments and lead our team to service improvements and healthy returns.”

The Corinthia Hotel is located at the mouth of the picturesque St. George’s Bay, within its own landscaped gardens and private beach front, yet just minutes from the prime entertainment areas in Malta.

All 250 rooms and suites have uninterrupted sea views. The hotel boasts extensive conference and leisure facilities, including the Apollo Day Spa. A prominent feature is its large and attractive cascading pool complex, flowing all the way down from the restaurant level to the hotel’s own lido, offering a wide range of water sports and specialty restaurants right at the water’s edge.

Stuart, who hails from England, is married to Vicky and has three children.
