Greece and Turkey cooperate in tourism

The 8th Greek-Turkish Forum on Tourism was held in the Athenian seaside district of Vouliagmeni on October 12.

The 8th Greek-Turkish Forum on Tourism was held in the Athenian seaside district of Vouliagmeni on October 12.

Addressing the forum, Greek Culture & Tourism Minister Pavlos Yeroulanos underlined that target markets for the two countries should include India, China, Japan and North America, while he focused on the obstacles that need to be overcome, namely, simplification of visa issuance procedures.

Yeroulanos and his Turkish counterpart, Ertugrul Gunay, decided that henceforward, Greece and Turkey will be jointly represented in international tourist fairs, in these targeted markets of mutual interest.

Furthermore, the two tourism ministers signed protocols of cooperation in the field of tourism. The next meeting will be held in Izmir, in October 2012.
