Sofitel brings French luxury and sophistication to Singapore

Sofitel Luxury Hotels has announced the latest addition to its luxury network in Asia, with the signing of Sofitel So Singapore, the world’s third Sofitel So label hotel.

Established and well-respected in the industry, Sofitel’s designer, ‘boutique hotel’ label, Sofitel So, epitomizes stylish modern living. Known for its trendy and contemporary vibe, it is the perfect representation of what Singapore is today.

Located at 35 Robinson Road, a heritage building in the heart of Singapore’s CBD, Sofitel So Singapore will provide a unique blend of French elegance and the spirit of art-de-vivre with local charm and will cater to business and leisure travellers seeking the ultimate in style, luxury, culture and comfort, while keeping the essence and prestige of the 35 Robinson Road building intact.

35 Robinson Road is one of Singapore’s most prestigious addresses and the heritage building in neoclassical style, will set the hotel apart from others. Located at the heart of activity in Singapore’s bustling city centre, the luxury hotel is walking distance from Marina Bay area and close to premier shopping belt, Orchard Road.

Sofitel So Singapore will have 134 guestrooms including 23 suites and is owned by Royal Group Holdings, a Singapore-based organisation that focuses on the development of hospitality projects at unique locations with historical relevance. The development at 35 Robinson Road will commence next month, while Sofitel So Singapore is schedule to open in the first quarter of 2013.

With the addition of Sofitel So Singapore, the group currently has a network of four hotels under its Sofitel So label in trendy, contemporary locations around the world. Each Sofitel So blends design with pleasure and style with personality, embodying French luxury and expressing the very essence of the destination. The first location was the Sofitel So Mauritius, which opened in December 2010. Sofitel So Bangkok, the first urban Sofitel So, is expected to open in the first quarter of 2012 and the fourth Sofitel So hotel in the pipeline, Sofitel So Mumbai, is set to open in 2015.

Sofitel Luxury Hotels has been on an aggressive development strategy. Besides Sofitel So Singapore, the brand has just signed Sofitel Kiev Lyuteranska in Ukraine which is poised to open in 2013 and Sofitel Frankfurt Opera in Germany which is scheduled for 2014.

Sofitel Frankfurt Opera is located in the heart of town, next to the Opera House and near the major international company headquarters and luxury boutiques on Goethestraße, the Frankfurt equivalent of the Parisian Avenue Montaigne. The hotel will have 150 guestrooms including 30 suites, a restaurant and lobby bar, and a 400 square metre area entirely devoted to wellbeing, with a So SPA and So FIT. Opening is scheduled for 2014.

Right in the centre of the city of golden domes, a stone’s throw from the famous Opera house and Saint Sophia cathedral, with its magnificent Byzantine architecture, is the site of the new Sofitel Kiev Lyuteranska. This establishment will offer 289 guestrooms including 31 suites, two restaurants, a bar, and a vast 1000 sq metre area, with So SPA and So FIT, entirely devoted to wellbeing of mind and body. And lastly, seven modular meeting rooms and a ballroom complete the offer which targets business travellers. Opening is planned for 2013.
