State will take over an additional 15 percent of Aerolineas Argentinas
The country decided to use the option that permits it to increase in up to 20 percent its actual 5 percent share participation in Aerolineas Argentinas, managed by the Marsans group. The Ggvernment informed about its decision, which will be effective by contributing the capital equivalent to the actual value of the company which could vary between €270 and €680 million.

Promotion of Amazon-Patagonia Tourist Corridor
The governor of Patagonia confirmed his commitment to travel to Sao Paulo, Brasil, to advance in the starting up of the Amazon-Patagonia Tourist Corridor, an initiative that the leader himself conceived in order to promote tourism, culture and the political exchange of the whole South region.

Airports 2000 began new mega terminal in Ezeiza
AA2000 announced an investment of US$250 million to construct a new mega terminal in Ezeiza, six times larger than the one inaugurated in the spring of 2000.

First Wine Shop Hotel of the Patagonia

Aerolineas Sudamericanas about to begin operations
After more than a month, AS finally obtained the Aerial Operator Certificate (COA). By means of this permit, the only obstacle would be the obtaining of the commercial license from the Superintendence of Transport. Therefore, the representatives of the airline assured the beginning of operations as from the middle of December.

XI Peru Travel Mart in Lima and Cuzco
PromPeru and Canatur are organizing the 11th Peru Travel Mart where the operators of Peruvian tourism will meet with tourist package purchasers at world level. The event will take place from April 23 to the 27th in Lima and Cuzco.

Venue of World Tourism Day 2008
Peru will be host of the World Tourism Day 2008, which will be held on September 27th, as announced by the Minister of External Commerce and Tourism. SHP Spanish interest in investing in Peruvian tourism
SHP announced that the representative of the Barcelona Promotion Foundation (Spain) will arrive in Peru in February 2008 to evaluate and define the investment possibilities. Previously, the general manager of SHP met with the manager of the Catalan association of Travel Agencies, tourist representative of the European Economic Community. Likewise, he met with the General Consul of Peru in Spain who will do the necessary follow-up for Peru to have the necessary presence in Barcelona.

President offers awarding of Manta airport to China
The presidential website informed that the Ecuadorian president offered the awarding of the Manta air base. The air base is being used by the USA Armed Forces, but the contract expires in 2009 and will not be renewed, said an officer from the Ministry of Transport and Public Works. The initiative is part of the country’s effort to convert Manta in a port of entry for China to Latin America.

Aircomet seeks to attract Spanish tourists

The president informed that the Ministry of Tourism will have a budget of approximately US$300 million in 2008, an increase of 85 percent with respect to this year.

Investors launch offers for the remaining 25.3 percent of Aeromexico
On Friday, a group of investors, Banamex included, launched an offer to purchase the 250.1 million of remaining shares, or 25 percent of Aeromexico Consortium. The total amount of the offer is of up to US$62 million, or US$0.24 per share.

Excellence opens its second establishment in Cancun
The Spanish group Excellence inaugurated in Cancun its second resort in the region; the Excellence Playa Mujeres, an establishment that forms part of a tourist complex in which approximately €490 million have been invested and which includes two hotels, approximately 600 dwellings and one marina.

Mexicana de Aviacion opens new routes from USA
The airline announced that as from December it will launch a daily flight from the Chicago international airport (USA) to the central cities of Aguascalientes and San Luis Potosi, as well as the beach town of Cancun, in the Mexican Caribbean.

Investment of US$ 100 million in construction of the Ritz hotel
The first real-estate project of the Ritz-Carlton company will be carried out with an approximate investment of US$100 million. This project, named The Ritz-Carlton Mexico City and The Residents at the Ritz Carlton Mexico city, will be carried out in alliance with the Mexican companies: Questro group, Pulso Real Estate and MF. Its opening is foreseen for the end of 2008.
