JAL Group (JAL) announced today adjustments made to its international and domestic flight frequency plans for the second half of fiscal year 2011. Based on the route, fleet and flight frequency plans announced on January 20 this year, current supply and demand conditions were analyzed in detail leading to an increase in flight frequencies on routes with substantial demand and a reduction in the number of flights on a portion of domestic routes to raise load factors and improve revenue.
On the international network, JAL will add one more weekly round-trip flight from Tokyo (Narita) to New Delhi – a route with a robust high-yield corporate demand while domestically, JAL will operate six more round-trip flights a day – one on each of 6 routes identified to have sufficient demand and on which customers can benefit from more flight timing options.
