The CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Alain St. Ange, and Tourism Consultant and Copywriter Glynn Burridge met with Patrick Ward of MTV Networks Africa to discuss a suite of joint ventures designed to further raise the profile of the Seychelles islands.

During discussions, it was decided that a team from MTV will visit Seychelles prior to the 2012 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria” due to be held between March 2-4, 2012, in order to plan how to give international coverage to the event.

“The carnival is already an excellent platform for showcasing a range of international music, and MTV is the perfect partner to help us take that to the next level,” stated Alain St. Ange, “The popularity of MTV is such that it will provide us with a valuable platform for raising awareness of the Seychelles carnival and its music.”

It has also been discussed to have MTV cover the Creole island’s carnival, now known accross the world as the “Carnival of Carnivals.”

Further discussions were held concerning the organizing of a Seychelles Music Festival that will promote not only music from Seychelles but also from the region, for which MTV is a logical outlet.
