Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, is being joined by David Germain, Seychelles’ Tourism Director for Africa and the Americas, and Glynn Burridge, the Tourism Board’s copywriter and tourism consultant, at the meeting of 46th Retosa Board (SADC Ministers Responsible for Tourism) due to be held in Livingstone, Zambia, between June 20-23, 2011.

This meeting, which is a forum for debating issues of a tourism-related nature such as the accreditation of Retosa, regional tourism growth, and development strategies, as well as the joint marketing of the region, will offer Seychelles the opportunity to address the matter of the payment of Retosa fees, while confirming its commitment to the organization, its principles, and activities.

The Seychelles Tourism Board views this meeting as another ideal opportunity to network with regional tourism players, further raise the profile of the Seychelles islands as a tourism destination, and create awareness by advertising such events as the Carnaval International de Victoria, due to be held in Victoria between March 2-4, 2012 and SUBIOS – Seychelles Festival of the Sea, scheduled for early November 2011.

Alain St.Ange said before leaving Seychelles that the Indian Ocean islands of the Seychelles remained committed to working with mainland Africa and with the islands of the Indian Ocean. “Together as a continent, and as a united group of islands of the Indian Ocean, we are strong when we are together and united as the people of that continent and island group,” Alain St.Ange said, “This is why Seychelles is going to Livingstone to be counted as a member and to be heard as leaders in the field of tourism.” St.Ange said as he ended his meeting with the press.

Alain St.Ange is expected to address the SADC Ministers who are responsible for tourism.
