Cultural tourism gets a boost in Seychelles

The Russian and French embassies in the Seychelles have joined forces to bring to Seychelles a Franco–Russian Concert of popular songs.

The Russian and French embassies in the Seychelles have joined forces to bring to Seychelles a Franco–Russian Concert of popular songs. This unique event will be held on Thursday, June 9 at the Mont-Fleuri Auditorium of the University of Seychelles.

As part of the Seychelles brand of tourism launched by President James Michel, the Tourism Board has embarked on a “cultural tourism” drive, which saw world-class performers such as Yuri Bashmet and Michel Dalberto perform in Seychelles. “Now we are benefiting from the initiative of two embassies rallying their forces to bring added support for our cultural tourism drive,” said Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board.

“We take this opportunity to thank the French and Russian Ambassadors for this initiative and to thank the University of Seychelles, Air Seychelles, and Alliance Française for the support they have given to make this cultural show happen,” St.Ange said.

Elena Mezhinskaya (singer), Alexander Lushchik (guitarist), and Philippe Servain (accordéoniste) will be performing as a trio, and it is expected that the evening will be a great success.
