NEW YORK, New York – Recognizing the newest and brightest thinkers in the business travel industry today, the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) presented its President’s Award, as well as a new “Three Under 33” award to three industry leaders at the ACTE Global Conference in New York.

ACTE presented their highest level of professional recognition, The President’s Award for Advancing the Industry, to Karoline Mayr, Director, Global Travel Procurement for Deltek. The President’s Award is presented to an industry member who makes outstanding contributions to their profession, through service to the association.

“The ACTE President’s Award is a great honor for us to hand out,” said ACTE President Chris Crowley. “It is a way for us to distinguish a member who has demonstrated rapid career growth, broad-based travel management experience, expertise in a chosen discipline, and a commitment to ACTE’s principles.”

The “Three Under 33” is a recognition program designed to showcase products and services from the next generation of industry leaders. ACTE’s 2011 “3 Under 33” recipients are:

• Evan Konwiser, Co-founder of FlightCaster
• Miriam Moscovici, Senior Director, Emerging Technologies of BCD Travel
• Steven Mandelbaum, Managing Director, Information Systems of The Advisory Board Company

In order to qualify, potential winners must be around or under the age of 33, and have implemented a new idea, fresh approach, or a new product or service in support of business travel sometime in the previous twelve months. They can either be nominated or nominate themselves.

“We are excited to be rewarding the efforts of individuals who are leading the way for innovation in this arena,” said ACTE Executive Director Ron DiLeo. “We know we cannot continue buying and managing travel as we have for the past 20 years, and these fresh approaches are helping change the face of business travel.”
