Seychelles new brand of tourism focuses on budget travel

The launching in the Seychelles of the new brand of tourism concept by the islands’ President James Michel last year has given a strong push to the “affordable Seychelles” brand of tourism. In addition to the investment forum, which took place this week, the Seychelles brand of tourism has also served as the right platform to open up avenues for more Seychellois to venture in to tourism business opportunities.

This is just part of the continuous effort by the Seychelles Tourism Board to diversify the accommodation network of the islands so as to better cater to the different travel market segments, especially those who are searching for the budget category or affordable hotels. It should be noted that the island’s Tourism Board is also encouraging and supporting those Seychellois who own such establishments in their endeavors to further evolve to be better able to grab the opportunities that are being offered to them in this new tourism development era.

One wholly-owned concept falling into the new “affordable Seychelles” line is the Reef Holiday Apartment, situated at Anse Aux Pins on the main island of Mahe. It is owned and managed by Eugene Albert and his wife Juliana. They are not shy to compliment the affordable Seychelles concept, saying that this marketing option offers a new generation of travel for those who are โ€œlooking for a home away from homeโ€ at very affordable rates. They say that a 50 to 75 dollar room is still avaliable in Seychelles, and that this rate has always been avaliable to the decerning traveler looking for a small Seychellois-owned establishment offering a Creole welcome.

The Reef Holiday Apartment of Anse Aux Pins on the main island of Mahe also features the right vision that the Seychelles Tourism Board is advocating for this category of self catering/small guesthouse facilities with the Seychellois feel, touch, and ambience. “This is all part of the Seychelles brand … and what many of you are looking for,” said a representative of the island’s Tourism Board when discussing the island’s avaliable accommodation network with the press.

The management of Reef Holiday Apartments is a new 22-room establishment that has recently been fully completed. They say that they are always ready to accommodate and welcome visitors with their Creole charm and flair. They offer a 24 hours a day/7 days a week service, and guests benefit from various services that are free of charge. These include Internet facilities, afternoon tea, etc.

The Albert Family say that because they want their guests to come back and to spread the word about their establishment to all their friends and relatives, they are guaranteeing not only value for money, but a Seychellois establishment out to defend, protect, and consolidate the island’s tourism industry.
