Making the move from .com to .travel

ETurboNews (eTN) has been a .com domain for over 10 years now, providing global travel and tourism news on a daily basis. Back when eTN was first established, there was no such thing as .travel; otherwise opting to use that would have been a no-brainer.

As times change and the world progresses, so too has eTN decided to slowly make the switch over to the .travel world and at the same time change our brand name from eTurboNews to eTN, thus creating the new etn.travel website.

“Changing our domain to become a .travel company will automatically identify us to be travel and tourism related,” said Juergen T. Steinmetz, publisher of eTurboNews, “For those not familiar with eTurboNews, it is not readily understood that we are involved in the business of travel and tourism. This new domain name will remedy that.”

In order for a business to be able to carry the .travel domain, it must qualify as a bona fide travel industry company. In today’s times of fraud and scams, this is a fantastic way for visitors to .travel websites to feel secure that these companies have been “pre-qualified” as legitimate travel companies.
