The woman who was killed in Wednesday’s terror attack in Jerusalem has been identified as 56-year-old British tourist Mary-Jane Gardner, police said Thursday.

The British Embassy in Tel Aviv said it has contacted the woman’s relatives in the UK. Police had a hard time indentifying the woman because she was not carrying any identification at the time of the attack near the Jerusalem Convention Center, in which 38 people were injured โ€“ two of them seriously.

Twelve of those who were wounded in the attack remain hospitalized.

Wednesday night, before the victim was identified, British Foreign Secretary William Hague called the attack a “callous and disgusting act of terrorism directed against innocent civilians which I condemn unreservedly.

“I would like to express the UK’s unwavering support for the people of Israel in the face of such horrific acts,” he said.

Meanwhile, sources in Islamic Jihad claimed Thursday that Palestinian security forces in the West Bank have arrested two of its members in Jenin.

The two, Khaled Jaradat and Tarek Kaadan, were arrested due to Israel’s claims that the organization is responsible for the terror attack in Jerusalem.
