Russia, Serbia sign tourism cooperation agreement

BELGRADE, Serbia – Russia and Serbia have signed agreements on cooperation in the energy sector, in tourism and international road service.

The agreements were signed in the presence of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and his Serbian counterpart Mirko Cvetkovic on Wednesday.

Inter RAO EES CEO Boris Kovalchuk and Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas signed an agreement on cooperation.

Russian Transport Deputy Minister Nadezhda Nazina and Serbian Minister of the Economy and Regional Development Neboija Ciric concluded an inter-governmental agreement on tourism. Russian Deputy Education Minister Alexei Ponomaryov and Serbian Education Minister Zarko Obradovic signed a document on scientific and technical cooperation.

In addition, Russia and Serbia signed a deal on international road service. The document was concluded by Russian Transport Minister Igor Levitin and Serbian Infrastructure and Energy Minister Milutin Mrkonjic.

Putin said he is satisfied with the development of Russian-Serbian cooperation.

Addressing his Serbian colleague, Putin said, โ€œI have an opportunity to talk with your president. We are pleased to discuss our cooperation in an expanded format.โ€

โ€œI am satisfied with the development of our cooperation in priority fields.โ€ Among such spheres, the Russian prime minister named energy, transport, environment and science.

Cvetkovic said the Russian prime ministerโ€™s visit was being held in a friendly atmosphere. โ€œIโ€™m sure that your visit will strengthen our political relations and raise them to a new level,โ€ he said.

Serbian-Russian relations have a good foundation and their further task is to search for new forms of cooperation, the Serbian prime minister stressed.
