The Indian Ocean Island of La Reunion has confirmed details about their float for the 2011 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria.” It is the unique UNESCO World Heritage Site of La Reunion that will take center stage of the La Reunion Island Float, which will also see the reigning Miss La Reunion as the star from the island. La Reunion will be using this platform for showing off their culture alongside local music from the island. The Director of Tourism of La Reunion, Pascal Viroleau, will be with his delegation promoting La Reunion to Seychelles and to the world.

La Reunion is one of the many tourism destinations and one of the many countries to have responded to the invitation from Seychelles for members of the community of nations to showcase their own respective culture, diversity, and natural attractions through a carnival that will be well covered by the international press.

Seychelles has now confirmed that some 39 members, inclusive of 8 TV channels, from the press community from all over the world are expected in Seychelles to cover the 2011 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria.” This was a commitment made by Seychelles when it invited the different governments to be in Seychelles to be part of their carnival that is being staged as “the melting pot of cultures.”

The La Reunion delegation is expected in Seychelles on Thursday, March 3 in time for the official opening of the carnival by Seychelles President James Michel on Friday afternoon, March 4.
