Costa Rica Tourism Board sponsors Get Going Costa Rica Family Eco-Adventure Sweepstakes

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica –

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – The Costa Rica Tourism Board, together with the Los Angeles Zoo and National Aquarium, is excited to announce the Get Going Costa Rica Family Adventure Sweepstakes that will send two lucky families of four on an all-inclusive family eco-adventure to Costa Rica for a seven day, six night stay during the summer of 2011. Winners will be accompanied by conservation experts from both institutions to learn more about the biodiversity of Costa Ricaโ€™s rich lands, fauna, and flora, as well as gain insight on existing research being done to preserve Costa Ricaโ€™s natural habitat.

The Get Going Costa Rica Family Adventure Sweepstakes has already opened its first entry period with the National Aquarium and will remain open until April 8, 2011, 5:00 pm EST. The Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens will be opening their sweepstakes period today, March 1, 2011, through June 30, 2011, 5:00 pm EST.

Participants can register weekly to win by visiting www.visitcostarica.com or by entering the sweepstakes on the Facebook pages of the Los Angeles Zoo or Visit Costa Rica and by opting in while registering to receive bi-weekly email reminders that will include a sweepstakes registry link. Winners from the Los Angeles Zoo sweepstakes period will be announced on www.visitcostarica.com, July 2011.

Sweepstakes winners will be flown to Costa Rica’s capital, San Jose, to begin their eco-adventure by enjoying one of Costa Rica’s top rated coastlines in Manuel Antonio National Park. Throughout the week, the families will observe dolphins and whales in Costa Ballena; explore the wildlife and pristine beaches of Corcovado National Park, while spending time with conservation experts learning about the important preservation work being done in Costa Rica.

“We are excited to be partnering with the Costa Rica Tourism Board to help inform our visitors and members about the wondrous varieties of animal and plant life in Costa Rica and to introduce them to the terrific travel opportunities available,” commented Connie M. Morgan, President of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association – the non-profit organization that supports the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens. “I was fortunate to have visited Costa Rica with a group of supporters from the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and the entire trip was enchanting from beginning to end. Everyone who participated was moved by the country’s natural beauty, warm hospitality, and variety of tourist activities,” she added.

With the help of the Los Angeles Zoo and the National Aquarium, Costa Rica can showcase their country as a family-oriented sustainable tourism destination haven.
