DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania (eTN) – Tanzania is focusing on sports tourism and adventure travel to add market value to campaigns promoting tourism in key attractions made up of wildlife, Indian Ocean beaches, and historical sites.

The Harleyโ€“Davidson Motorbikes Kilimanjaro Expedition kicked off this week to demonstrate sports adventure through motorbike riding across Tanzania and Kenya, passing through leading tourist sites in East Africa.

The Jean Marc Chapel Pour Escales Due Monde and Harley-Davidson Motorbikes are premier organizers of the Kilimanjaro Expedition that will cover Tanzania and Kenya with the premium mark of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa.

The Kilimanjaro Expedition includes 80 motorbike riders from France, Canada, Switzerland, Belgium, Israel, Australia, Malaysia, Denmark, and Tanzania.

Harley-Davidson Motorbikes expedition made the riding in Tanzania for the first time with a wonderful collection of great sportsmen and women.

โ€œIt makes a wonderful atmosphere when the motorbike riders mix and interact together to make the best of sports tourism and which is taking place in East Africa,” said Macha, the Director of Marketing for the Tanzania Tourist Board.

โ€œOur survey trip to Tanzania last year was unforgettable and produced the most memorable route excitements that I would like to share with the Kilimanjaro Expedition team,โ€ he added.

Jean Marc Chapel, the organizer of the Harley-Davidson Motorbikes Kilimanjaro Expedition said, โ€œI am certainly looking forward to returning to Tanzania to celebrate another wonderful year of sports tourism.โ€

Harley-Davidson Motorbikes Kilimanjaro Expedition is being held in Tanzania, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Tanzania Tourist Board, Tanzania National Parks, Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, and Kibo Travel Bureau.

Mr. Aloyce Kimaro, Chairman of Kibo Travel Bureau said, โ€œThe Harley-Davidson Motorbike Expedition is a unique event. It is always magnificent and a great success for the country where it is held.

โ€œThe whole event is superb. We will certainly try to do something special for this yearโ€™s Tanzania Expedition,โ€ he told eTurboNews.
