The 2011 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria” was given an hour-long live phone-in radio program on the National Radio by the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) with Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board and eTurboNews Ambassador, explaining the carnival program, and answering questions directly from the public in a program called “Open Microphone.”

This was the opportunity for the head of the Seychelles Tourism Board to showcase to the Seychellois public the importance of the island’s carnival and also to take questions for a full hour on queries and suggestions from the public at large. “The questions received during the program showed clearly that the interest for the carnival was present and that everyone was looking forward to the three-day carnival set to be launched on March 4,” Alain St.Ange said after coming out of the radio station, where he was accompanied by Nigel Henrie, the person responsible for the on-the-ground coordination of the carnival.

Patsy Canaya, the popular presenter of the Seychelles Broadcasting Cooperation’s “Open Microphone” program said that she was overtaken by the large number of questions received during the live hour-long phone-in program. It has now been confirmed that the same style program will be organized by the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation’s Television Network during the course of next week.

The Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation is doing its utmost to update the Seychelles population on the carnival program and what the Seychelles will be hosting on March 4, 5 and 6 when the 2100 Seychelles carnival gets underway.
