Garuda Indonesia increases flights from Jakarta to Sydney

JAKARTA, Indonesia – Garuda Indonesia has increased service between Jakarta and Sydney from three to seven flights per week utilizing a Boeing 737-800NG to service the route.

JAKARTA, Indonesia – Garuda Indonesia has increased service between Jakarta and Sydney from three to seven flights per week utilizing a Boeing 737-800NG to service the route.

According to a company source, the decision to add flights came in response to growing demand evidenced by passenger volume from Jakarta to Sydney surpassing volume to Bali by as much as ten percent during November and December 2010.

Garuda Indonesia Senior Australia General Manager, Bagus Y. Siregar, remarked that the decision to add flights on the Jakarta/Sydney route demonstrates a commitment to tourism in Jakarta. “We foresee that … with daily services from Sydney to Jakarta, we will provide our customers with endless opportunity for travel and encourage the continued growth of Jakarta, not only as a popular Indonesian destination, but as Asia’s newest gateway to the globe.”
