Tourists attacked, robbed in Bermuda hotels

Bermuda Sun reports that a man brandishing a bladed article and a blunt object demanded money from an elderly couple staying at Grotto Bay Beach Hotel in Hamilton parish.

The man gained entry into the hotel room at about 5:10am and escaped with a quantity of cash. The 60-year-old man and the 61-year-old woman from America were injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment; however their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The suspect is described as a 6 ft man wearing a black hat.

According to Bermuda Sun, this robbery came about an hour after a man gained entry into a room at The Wharf Hotel in Paget.

At about 4am the intruder demanded money from the occupant and made good his escape with a quantity of cash.

The victim, a 28 year old Australian man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment. The visitorโ€™s injuries are not life threatening.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned man of slim build and approximately 5ft 8ins.

Detectives are investigating both of this morningโ€™s robberies.
