Malaysia Airlines managing director and CEO, Tengku Datuk Azmil Zahruddin, announced that the carrier will launch service to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia beginning December 17.

Riyadh wii be the third new destination for Malaysia Airlines this year, after Dammam, Saudi Arabia and Bandung, Indonesia.

The carrier will have three weekly flights, departing Kuala Lumpur on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 8.05pm and arriving to Riyadh at 11.40pm.

“As a focal point for trade and a burgeoning region for tourism, the Middle east is a key market for us. Likewise, the Arabs are very attracted to Malaysia as a vacation or honeymoon destination and a potential trade partner,” Azmil said.

In the Middle East, Malaysia Airlines is connected to Dubai, Beirut, Istanbul and Dammam. The carrier is also official airline for Haj and Umrah pilgrims.
