(eTN) – According to reports from Kinshasa, the Congo DR transport ministry was awarded a new turnkey project last week to install a new air traffic control and management system across the sprawling country.
It is understood that the latest European technology will be introduced and installed in key centers across the country, while staff of the Congolese air traffic control will undergo training on the use and maintenance of the new system.
No timeframe was available at the time to going to press about the period of time needed to deliver, install, and operationalize the entire system, but it is thought it will take at least several months, considering, for instance, the geographical distances between Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, Goma, and the other chosen locations for the new equipment.
