Alaska Airlines launches Seattle-St. Louis service

SEATTLE – Alaska Airlines is launching daily service today between Seattle and St. Louis. To introduce the new route, the airline is offering $106 one-way fares on tickets purchased by Oct.

SEATTLE – Alaska Airlines is launching daily service today between Seattle and St. Louis. To introduce the new route, the airline is offering $106 one-way fares on tickets purchased by Oct. 2 for travel Oct. 17 to Nov. 17, 2010, on select flights between Seattle and St. Louis.

“We’re pleased to bring our award-winning customer service to the ‘Gateway to the West,'” said Joe Sprague, Alaska’s vice president of marketing. “With new nonstop service to St. Louis, Alaska Airlines and our sister carrier, Horizon Air, together serve 30 of the top 35 most-visited destinations from Seattle.”

“We’re excited to welcome Alaska Airlines to St. Louis,” said Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, director of Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. “Alaska offers great connections between the Midwest and the Northwest. Seattle is currently the second-largest West Coast market for St. Louis travelers.”

Travelers can earn double Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles on the new flights between Sept. 27 and Nov. 17, 2010. To qualify, customers must register at alaskaair.com.

The new flights will be operated with Boeing 737 aircraft. Inflight service will include Alaska Airlines’ digEplayer, a personal entertainment system offering a variety of movies, television shows, music and other features.
