Survey: New Zealand tourism likely to cool off

New Zealand Ministry of Economic Development’s Tourism Industry Monitor’s survey of 400 travel businesses suggested that country’s tourism industry is expected to cool off over next 3 month.

New Zealand Ministry of Economic Development’s Tourism Industry Monitor’s survey of 400 travel businesses suggested that country’s tourism industry is expected to cool off over next 3 month.

Even with business confidence index increase suggesting that optimists outnumber pessimists, still 35% of respondents expect the demand to fall, while 0% anticipate the demand to increase withing next 3 months.

Industry demand dropped by 0.6% this summer, compared with the same period last year, and profitability fell 0.2%. Further decrease in demand by 0.2% expected between September and November while profitability is expected to increase by 0.4%.
