Accused American spy Sarah Shourd has been released on bail and arrived in Oman from Iran today.

Accused American spy Sarah Shourd has been released on bail and arrived in Oman from Iran today.

She was detained along with fellow hikers Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal in July of 2009 after crossing into Iran from Iraq.

Iranian authorities have charged Shourd, Bauer and Fattal with “illegaly entering the country and espionage.”

According to Iran’s English-language Press TV report, Shourd was freed on bail of around $US500,000 ($534,790). It was paid in Oman at Iran’s state-run Bank Melli.

But the Iranian tribunal has extended detention of the other two Americans, Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer, for another two months, hikers’ lawyer told the semi-official ISNA news agency.
