The re-branded Air Nigeria Airline would resume flight operations to Benin and Owerri airports in July.

A statement issued by the airline’s spokesman, Francis Ayigbe in Lagos, said the resumption of operations to the airports was in line with the company’s new vision to connect every major city on its route.

It said the airline was scheduled to operate daily flights to Benin City and Owerri and would also be launching introductory attractive fares discounted with as much as 50 per cent.

The statement quoted the airline’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kinfe Kahassaye, as saying that the objective of the new board was to fully integrate most major cities in Nigeria into its route network.

“With the recommencement of our flight operations into Benin City and Owerri, passengers in both cities and neighbouring towns will have access to Air Nigeria’s onward connections to other domestic routes,” he said.

He noted that Air Nigeria was set to double its fleet size by acquiring five additional aircraft.
According to Kahassaye the entire operations of the airline was currently undergoing a thorough re-engineering.

Chairman of the airline, Mr Jimoh Ibrahim, while unveiling the new brand name of the airline recently, said the company would be turned around in the shortest possible time.

According to him, the airline’s new identity would reflect the rich cultural heritage and integrity of Nigeria.
