The pilot of a no-frills Australian airline is being investigated over claims he was texting on his mobile phone during landing.

The aircraft was forced to pull up and perform a “go-around” after warning systems were triggered.

Air safety investigators are looking into the incident, on a Jetstar flight from Darwin to Singapore.

The A321-200, carrying 167 passengers, was forced to pull out of a landing after its systems warned that the landing gear was not down.

The plane was only 400 feet above the ground when the alert sounded and it landed safely the second time around. It is feared the pilot’s mobile may have triggered the false alarm.
