(eTN) MILAN – In its 20 years, the ACI Europe Annual Assembly & Congress is firmly established as the annual meeting place for air transport chief executives and industry leaders. Year after year, the Annual Congress addresses the most important issues facing the aviation industry and typically attracts over 450 senior executives from airports and airlines, as well as national and European-level legislators and regulators, consultants, suppliers, and the media.

Airports need to plan for the long-term, so a better understanding of what the world will be like in 20 years, plus real ideas from air transport leaders on the development of the sector will provide an invaluable and never-before-facilitated forum for participants. Taking place June 16-18, 2010 at the Marriott Hotel Milano, Italy, key topics to be addressed by leading industry experts include:

– A vision for European transport in 2030, Future Political and Market Forces Shaping the Industry

– Conservation Efforts โ€“ growth will only be possible if far outstripped by environmental improvements and strong social responsibilities of 2030. What are our best hopes?

– How far will airports need to go with their efforts to meet the environmental and CSR responsibilities of 2030?

– How great a contribution will ATM advancements make to aviationโ€™s environmental efforts?

– Will โ€œnew fuelsโ€ cure all our worries?

– Industry Relationships of 2030

– The Passenger Experience of 2030

A new Airport Leaders Symposium briefing will be held by leading airport figures on the key issues of the moment and their suggested strategies for success. A unique opportunity to reunite with old friends and make new ones will present itself at the Welcome Reception to be held at the Santa Maria Delle Grazie. Guests will be invited to enjoy a cocktail reception in the stunning cloister of the Santa Maria delle Grazie, a famous church and Dominican convent in Milan included in the UNESCO World Heritage sites list.

During the opening event, guests will have the opportunity to visit the painting, โ€œThe Last Supper,โ€ by Leonardo da Vinci, opened exclusively for the ACI Europe event. One of the most famous paintings in the world, the original mural can still be seen in its original location: the refectory of the church. This will undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience in the atmosphere of the ancient fifteenth century.

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of this event, the Gala Dinner will be held at the spectacular โ€œCortile della Rocchettaโ€ in the Castello Sforzesco, one of the most famous monuments in Milan. Built in 1368 by Gian Galeazzo Visconti to defend the city from military attacks, today it is an integral part of the cityโ€™s culture. During the eveningโ€™s celebrations, all guests will be invited to visit to the Rondanini Pietร  (1550), the last unfinished work of Michelangelo, housed in Castello Sforzesco โ€“ a truly unique opportunity. The evening will also play host to the announcement of the winners of the 6th ACI Europe Best Airport Awards 2010.

SEA Aeroporti Milano has organized a truly spectacular accompanying partner program. Guests will be invited in advance of the event to choose from one of three outstanding day trips: a guided tour of the most important sights of Milan; a shopping tour of Milan with a personal shopper, or a day trip to Como Lake and Bellagio.
