THAI advises passengers to arrive at the airport before start of curfew

Today, May 20, 2010, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) advised passengers to adhere to the new daily curfew times between 9:00 pm until 5:00 am for the period of May 20-22, 2010

Today, May 20, 2010, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) advised passengers to adhere to the new daily curfew times between 9:00 pm until 5:00 am for the period of May 20-22, 2010, for Bangkok, nearby cities, and provinces in the north and northeast, as announced by the Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation (CRES).

Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, THAI president, said that THAI will operate regular scheduled flights during this period and urges passengers to arrive at the airport before the curfew starts. Passengers are advised to have all travel documents readily available to present to authorities at the various CRES check-points on the way to the airport.

The only disruption to THAIโ€™s regular scheduled flight occurred yesterday, May 19, 2010, in which THAI cancelled five domestic flights from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Bangkok to Phuket, and Bangkok to Udon. As these flights had few passengers, THAI was able to confirm with the passengers and consolidate them onto other carriers in a convenient and timely manner.

Thai Airways International also advises that the Silom sales office remains closed until the situation in Bangkok stabilizes. Passengers may visit these sales offices:

THAI Larn Luang Office
Monday โ€“ Saturday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Sunday, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

THAI Head Office (on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road)
Monday โ€“ Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

For queries on flight schedules or reservations, passengers may call the THAI CONTACT CENTER at 02-356-1111 (24 hours), fax to 02-356-2222, email to: [email protected] , or visit the website at www.thaiairways.com .

THAIโ€™s Crisis Management & Operations Center (CMOC) is operating on a 24-hour basis to closely follow the latest developments.
