MUMBAI, India – Capt. C. P. Krishnan Nair, chairman of The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s highest civilian honor by the Honorable President of India, Smt. Pratibha Patil, in a glittering ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan, the Presidential Palace in New Delhi on March 31.

Established in 1954, the Padma Bhushan Award is the highest civilian decoration conferred by India’s President to recognize distinguished and exceptional services of the highest order to the nation from all professional fields.
