Megabus.com, a low-cost, express bus service which offers fares as low as $1 via the Internet will make its first US East Coast journeys today. Having served more than one million customers in its West and Midwest markets, megabus.com now offers East Coast residents travel between New York and Boston, Washington, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Buffalo, N.Y. and Atlantic City, N.J. in the United States as well as in Toronto and the UK.

“The overwhelming popularity of megabus.com’s innovative, express bus service prompted us to expand to the East Coast,” said Dale Moser, President and Chief Operating Officer of megabus.com. “Our Midwest same city sales are up 107 percent from 2007.”

“Seventy-nine percent of our customers are choosing to travel with megabus.com instead of driving, flying or taking the train and have been delighted with their travel experiences,” Moser added. “With current gas prices and financial strains, megabus.com continues to be the best value for the money choice of the traveling public.”

Customers are encouraged to book early to secure fares as low as $1 and will pay competitive fares the closer they book to the day of departure.

Megabus.com, a sister company of Gray Line New York Sightseeing and subsidiary of Coach USA, offers its customers a unique and economical way to travel. Megabus.com provides convenient online booking, guaranteed seating, greener, safer, state-of-the-art coaches, free WiFi (beginning June 9) and free video.
