As the end of the year approaches, the Seychelles Tourism Board has once again come out with another edition of its “Friends of Seychelles-Press” e-Newsletter.

In this last edition of the 2011 “Friends of Seychelles-Press” newsletter, the Seychelles Tourism Board takes the opportunity to thank all of members of the “Friends of Seychelles-Press” for having gone the extra mile to keep Seychelles in the news.

In reminiscence of 2011, the Seychelles islands were prompted into the limelight worldwide with the news of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge of the United Kingdom, honeymoon in these tropical islands. With that, the press has been eager to know more about the picturesque and tranquil islands of the Seychelles.

In this edition, the “Friends of Seychelles-Press” looks at the various publications Seychelles featured in across the world and the multiple press conferences held by the Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Alain St.Ange.

The newsletter starts off with an article where Mr. St Ange invites the press to visit Seychelles to discover the many facets the islands has to offer as the perfect destination, an invitation he made in Paris following an interview by a series of French TV stations.

This follows with another piece on Seychelles making it in the news at the Tourism Communication Session at the 19th session of the UNWTO General Assembly in Gyeong Ju, Korea. Anita Mendiratta, the Lead Consultant of the CNN TASK Group, explained how Alain St.Ange from the Seychelles demonstrated the ability of constantly being in the news and increasing visibility of the islands.

The newsletter also takes notes on two publications featuring Seychelles, China Flight Magazine, and the popular Thomas Cook Traveler Guide tantalizing their readers to discover the mid-ocean islands.

Another great article is the launching of the edition of the Seychelles’ Leisure & Business Guide 2012 at the Top RESA 2011. Daniella Payet-Alis and her son, Laurent Alis, who are the Publication Directors, said the guide’s aim is to entice people and promote these magnificent islands in strategic market places all around the globe.

Furthermore, the newsletter goes on to highlight two more magazines, the French Tour Hebdo and the Emirates Bride magazine, that have dedicated several pages on the Seychelles islands. The Emirates Bride magazine speaks about a honeymoon in Seychelles whereas Tour Hebdo brings out the selling points of the islands.

Lastly, the newsletter ends off by wishing all the members of the “Friends of Seychelles-Press” with their families and friends a Merry Christmas and a happy and successful 2012.
