At least four people were killed and one injured in the hotel attack in the city of Darwin in northern Australia. The attack took place at five different locations across the city, including the Palms Hotel in Darwin’s suburb of Woolner.

A man broke into Woolner hotel and opened fire on the guests. A 45-year-old attacker was armed with a pump-action shotgun. He shot randomly few times at the doors of several hotel rooms.

In the hotel, the gunman killed four people and wounded two more guests. The attacker managed to escape from the crime scene and go to another part of the city, where he also opened fire with a gun at the passersby. Darwing police later said that the suspect has been detained after a mass shooting and warned that the number of victims can increase.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has said the incident is not terror-related.
